The Arabic Input Roadmap
Seven levels defined by what you can understand and do, with typical hour ranges and the full methodology behind every number.
The roadmap describes one register at a time: Levantine or Modern Standard Arabic.
Seven comprehension levels
The path moves from tuning in at 0 to 75 hours to broad, automatic comprehension at roughly the C1 listening level after 2,500 or more typical hours.
Where the numbers come from
The estimates combine observational comprehensible input milestones, Foreign Service Institute difficulty categories, and vocabulary coverage research. The ranges are reasoned estimates, not promises.
One register at a time
Hours advance the Levantine or MSA track that receives them, with meaningful but partial transfer between registers.
